Recycle Bowling Balls Into Mosaic Garden Art!

The best DIY project is one where you can ultimately make something from something else, take something old or used and give it new life…a better life…make it art! I found these wonder DIY garden art projects on flickr.com and was pretty amazed at the idea of using an old bowling ball and turning it into a piece of mosaic garden art.

The advantages are huge, especially if your garden sphere has been broken by weather, animals or vandals. Using a bowling ball as your center is making this one tough mosaic sphere. I would check with your local bowling alley for any bowling balls they may be discarding and you may be able to score a ball for free. Then go to town on the mosaic and choose colors that you love or match your house or you flower selection. Or you can make a baseball mosaic for your favorite team. See the example of the Detroit Tigers below.
