With spring here and summer around the corner, it is inevitable that we will all be spending more time outside enjoying our backyards in the warmer weather. So rather than have boring backyards without ambiance, why not create some fun with lanterns made from tin cans? This DIY tin can tutorial is from Grow Creative and shows what you can do with some time, tin cans, a hammer and some votive candles, which ends up being a crafty, cool, outdoor project.
The additional spray paint may seem like an afterthought, but you certainly don’t want your tin cans to rust and during the day the bright colors will make for better decorations that tin metal, yes? I love the greens and turquoise coloring and I think some orange paint would also be nice. The patterns you choose for you tin can lantern can be abstract, but also can tell a story from one can to another. Using different size nails for your pattern would also be really cool and creative.
